A break away is the perfect time to try something new...
If you decide to visit us at The Roundhouse for a peaceful country break, why not experience a reflexology or reiki session for yourself? I will be happy to answer any queries you may have on either of these therapies.. Reflexology - (IIR, MAR)
Being interested in the use of complementary therapies for many years, and having experienced reflexology myself as a client, I decided to enrol on a comprehensive course
to study this fascinating and effective therapy.
I was taught how to locate reflex areas on both the feet and hands, and how these areas correspond to different parts and organs of the body. By applying gentle but positive pressure I was soon able to feel subtle differences in the texture of a client's foot, in order
to locate the source of a particular ailment. Reflexology can help with many problems, by encouraging the body to clear congestion and re-balance itself. It is a natural, non-invasive therapy that works holistically (treating the body as a whole).
Using reflexology to help people feel better is incredibly satisfying for me as a therapist,
and I always encourage a prospective client to read about reflexology prior to receiving a treatment, in order to understand the principles.I trained and qualified with the International Institute of Reflexology and am a member of the Association of Reflexologists. I can be found on their website, www.aor.org.uk , under ‘Find a Reflexologist’ for North Devon, near Torrington.

First Session (approx. 1 ¼ hours, including consultation) - £25.00 Subsequent One Hour Session - £25.00
Reiki - (Level 2 - advanced level)
Reiki is an ancient form of healing that originated in Tibet, and was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the mid 1800’s. Reiki is a Japanese word, translating as ‘universal life force energy’. Rei means spirit, Ki (chi) is energy.
A Reiki session lasts about one hour and involves the client lying fully clothed on a
therapy couch. Gentle pressure is applied to the seven major chakras starting at the top of
the head and working down the front of the body, then the client will be asked to turn over
for the areas of the back to be worked on. The Ki energy is believed to go to the area of the body where it is most needed, to be beneficial.
It is a relaxing and calming experience, which re-balances the mind and body and can be an excellent stress-reducing therapy.
